Crawl out through the "Fallout 2"

And Fallout 2 has fallen. Man that thing is a beast compared to the first one. So much more to do, so much more you need to do. I would have liked to have seen Arroyo rebuilt or at least visitable again after the final fight, but there was also so much I didn't do.

I left New Reno alone, mainly because I could not decide which family deserved to get wiped out the least, but also it was just so busy. I did not complete either of the factions in San Fran as I got to a point where the end was in sight and went for it. I also did not finish Mariposa, because I needed a break after killing everything on the floors and just now remembered.

That final boss fight was either impossible, challenging but good, or super easy, dependent on whether you had 1 particular item, or if you disable or ignore some help.

Next is Fallout tactics, this is the last FO game I own that needs completing.

Side note:

I am also not best please that it claimed that I wiped out vault 13, I most definitely did not. I did everything I could to help them, I even kept their location from the NCR. I also watched a video of who did wipe them out and it most definitely was not our little blue friend.

It does also claim it was left abandoned afterwards. Well someone needs to tell Vic, Cassidy and that robotic dog. Sure they won't last very long, they are knocking on now, but it was not abandoned.

As The Pub Landlord Al Murray put it... It's been a year!

So today marks the 1 year anniversary of my Backlog journey. So how's it going?  I have knocked out 55 Steam games I had never finished before, and nearly all of them I had never played before. Half Life Blue Shift: shifted to the back of my mind

After Golden Light it was time to move onto an old favourite, the Half-Life series. Now I have played all the Half-Life games before, many moons ago, and do not have any save files to show for it. Also, after HL2, Ep1 and Ep2 were all merged together on the store, I need to redo it really anyway. I played the 1, and the source version back in September 2024, back to back, as I was intending to run through them all. And it was actually those playthroughs that got me thinking about clearing my backlog, it just took a few months for me to start. I decided to play Blue Shift first and as that is roughly about 3 hours, it did not take the evening to get it completed. Well done Barney, see you in a few hours. Time to move onto Opposing Force.

Closing 1 Valve to open another... Portal 2 attempts to teleport me away from boredom

Yep, I dropped 1 Valve game just to pick up another, Portal 2. However, Portal 2 is a game I have played and loved before, when it originally came out on Xbox 360, I even completed the CoOp stuff with my son back in the day. This was going to be an easy win. With Stephen Merchant and J K Simmons urging me on, how could I not enjoy this puzzle fest. More flying through the air at ridiculous speed from insane heights just to land firmly on my feet without injury, what did they do to me in stasis? Throw in some ground up moon rocks and weird goo, and I'm bouncing, sprinting and teleporting my way to reinforce the idea that even the most intelligent AI is stupid.
